My dad founded a home services company in 2016. Since both my parents are entrepreneurs, I have been surrounded by business my whole life. Through my dad's company, I am able to oversee sales calls, work on marketing, and help with hands-on home improvements. It has been very rewarding to watch my dad's business grow from a hobby to a full-time job.

As a team member, I was responsible for taking orders, handling cash and card payments, cleaning the store, and engaging with customers. I was able to refine my sales skills by promoting the annual giving card. I balanced 10-20 hour shifts while being enrolled as a full-time student. I worked at the Matthews, NC location in my hometown as well as the Auburn, AL location during college. I am very hard working and picked up extra shifts when needed.

Through this role, I was able to enhance my customer service skills and develop the ability to multitask. There were often more customers in the store than employees so it was important to make sure the customers felt welcomed and noticed. I made many product recommendations and gave suggestions based on a certain event or style preference. The website was run through Shopify. Working here, I developed a passion for retail and the customer experience. When we closed each night, I worked on an inventory count down from the day and analyzed sales averaging $2,000.
